Update on the Ten Commandments Texas Rally
January 14, 2004 The Ten Commandments Texas Rally, originally scheduled for January 17, 2004, has been rescheduled for April 3rd. Event chair Dianna Molix said the change of date will allow organizers to better reach the event's goal of inspiring, mobilizing, and training 12,000 attendees. "We'd like to see a really big turnout in April in support of our right to publicly acknowledge God," said Molix. Molix added: "This event is part of a national effort to build momentum for a mega-rally to be held in the fall in Washington, D.C., by several conservative organizations." The April 3rd rally, to be held at the Dallas Convention Center, will feature Dr. Alan Keyes as the keynote speaker, Dr. Rick Scarborough as guest speaker, and former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore as invited guest speaker. All seats will require tickets, although general seating is free. Reserved seating is available for a donation of $10. Details are available at the rally's website, www.texasrally.us The stated mission of the event is "to strengthen and mold God's people of all faiths into a battalion of voters who uphold the free acknowledgment of God as the source of our law traditions in America." The Ten Commandments Texas Rally is a kick-off event of the One Nation Under God project, under the auspices of Alan Keyes' Declaration Foundation and its activism arm, Renew America, in conjunction with Rick Scarborough of Vision America and Dianna Molix of Concerned Americans in Action. Renew America is providing guidance for the rally. Vision America is providing additional support, with the aid of ministries and pastors around the country.
