5,000 attend the Ten Commandments rally in Dallas

Keyes, Moore, Scarborough featured

April 4, 2004

Nearly 5,000 people from across the U.S. attended the Ten Commandments Texas Revival Rally in Dallas on Apr. 3.

The event, which was held at the Dallas Convention Center, featured Dr. Alan Keyes, former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, and Dr. Rick Scarborough of Vision America.

The event marked the official launch of the One Nation Under God project, a citizen activism initiative sponsored by Alan Keyes' RenewAmerica, in affiliation with its parent organizations, Declaration Foundation and Declaration Alliance, and other civic, religious, and educational partners.

According to Mary Parker Lewis, Chief of Staff of RenewAmerica, "The purpose of the project is to restore religious liberty and judicial restraint in America--by openly challenging current public policies that remove religious content from our national life, or that repress the public expression of religious conviction."

Continued Lewis, "In addition to assisting with Ten Commandments rallies throughout the U.S., RenewAmerica will promote increased civic action and events across America, targeting key state capitals and major cities, until the federal policies that repress public religious expression are reversed."

Sponsors of the Dallas event included Vision America, Concerned Americans in Action, Focus on the Family, American Family Association, Family Research Council, Traditional Values Coalition, Texas Homeschool Association, and the Dallas Metroplex Christian Radio community.

Upcoming Ten Commandments rallies that will feature Dr. Keyes and Dr. Scarborough and honor Judge Moore are scheduled for May 1 in Jackson, Tennessee, and July 5 in Provo, Utah.
