Restore the Commandments National Tour announced
Dr. Keyes, Judge Moore, Rick Scarborough to participate September 2, 2003
"Restore the Commandments" Alan Keyes' grassroots website, RenewAmerica.us, will assist in publicizing this effort and enlisting public support for it. The tour's purpose is to take the spirit of recent enthusiastic rallies in Montgomery, Alabama, to major cities throughout the United States, in building a nationwide movement to persuade Congress to end judicial activism under the authority of Article 3 of the Constitution. Featured speakers will include Dr. Keyes; Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore; Rick Scarborough, who was instrumental in organizing the Montgomery rallies; and other national leaders. Plans are already underway to host rallies in Houston, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Mobile, Alabama; Atlanta, Georgia; and Jacksonville, Florida. Judge Moore is scheduled to appear Sunday, Sept. 14, at a citywide rally in Houston. The state-by-state rallies, say organizers, will culminate in a massive rally on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court building in the fall of 2004. Montgomery "living monument" rallies to continue Meanwhile, according to Dr. Keyes, "A living monument to the right of the people to reverence God according to their will in their individual states" will continue in Montgomery, as ongoing rallies proceed indefinitely, under the auspices of an increasing number of national organizations. Last Saturday, Sandy Rios spoke at a rally sponsored by the Concerned Women for America. Said Dr. Keyes at a press conference on Thursday, "We have gathered and shall [continue to] gather, so they will know that we are not defeated. WE HAVE JUST BEGUN THE FIGHT!" A "nationwide movement" On the Aug. 28 WorldNetDaily Report, Dr. Keyes told host Joseph Farah, "There's a nationwide movement developing to call on Congress to limit the jurisdiction of the courts, in order to assure observance of the First Amendment." Part of that movement will be the upcoming national Restore the Commandments rallies. Over the next weeks and months, all concerned Americans should get involved in rallies in their own state. We will post updates here at RenewAmerica. Be sure to also visit RestoretheCommandments.com for updates. We especially need Congress to require the courts to follow the written language of the Constitution, in particular the First and Tenth Amendments, and thus respect the constitutional guarantee of the right of the states and of the people to determine their own affairs.
