From the President's Desk
By Dr. Richard Ferrier, President February 1, 2003 Fellow Declarationists, Ambassador Keyes and I join with President Bush and all Americans in expressing our gratitude to those brave astronauts who face the dangers of space flight, and we mourn the loss of the crew of seven on the Columbia. Placing our trust in the God of Nature and of Nature's Laws, we pray for the repose of the souls of our astronauts, and also the young Israeli, Ilan Ramon. We pray, too, for all their loved ones and the many men and women who have joined in the great adventure of space exploration. Our national resolve to advance the frontiers of science will continue, in spite of this accident. This is a tribute we will pay the astronauts and their kin. May God bless and preserve America, our "Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean!"
